CarouselAn attractive way to display your photos or product images in a very user friendly manner. A Carousel photo page will have thumbnails that are scrollable along one side or the top or bottom of the image display area. As yo click on the thumbnail, the image will appear. Additionally, you have the option to add descriptions, links and other graphic elements to this area to create an informative and useful resource for your sites visitor. Content Management System (CMS)A Content Management System enables the owner of a website, or anyone else of his or her choosing, to be able to add and delete certain content from the site from most web browsers. This is a great cost cutting feature as it puts the ability to update web pages in your hands so you don't have to pay us for each minor little update. It's also a powerful marketing tool. You can use a CMS for adding sale info for your customers, for example. Similarly, you can keep them up to date on your latest product offering.
We use the WebYep CMS. WebYep is a very reasonably priced plugin that's easy to use and configure. At $69 for one domain, you really can't go wrong with this system. -
Domain NameA domain name is your unique place on the web. Although technically not a web address, it's useful to think of it this way. Generally speaking a domain name will look something like "mydomain.com" or "mydomain.org" with mydomain replaced by the actual domain name. For instance, dirtydogdesigns.com is our domain name. We
purchased this name from our "domain name registrar". When you decide to create a place on the web for yourself, you'll have to choose a domain name, see if it's available or not and then pay for it. If you'd like, we can do all of this for you at no extra charge, other than the domain registration fee. -
Google AnalyticsGoogle Analytics is a FREE service from Google that allows you to track your website visitors in new and exciting ways. Once we put the Google Analytics code into your website you'll be able to track: how many people visit your site and each individual page, the network they're visiting from, if they're unique to your site, time spent on your
website, if they Googled to find your website, and much, much more! You'll quickly learn to use this info as a marketing tool to better target your customers and potential customers, and design web content that appeals to your target market. GreyboxGreyBox is a method of displaying images or other websites from your website pages. At it's most basic, GreyBox is a nifty and attractive slide show option for your photos. HighSlideHighslide is a small piece of JavaScript code that allows you to display your images in a very cool, intuitive and user friendly fashion. It costs a little extra for commercial sites but is free for non commercial sites and is well worth the $29 extra fee if displaying images is an important function of your site. LightboxLightBox is another method for displaying images and other information on your website. It's very similar to GreyBox but is template independent (no specific template required) and the functionality is already built into your website via the inclusion of the free PlusKit page.
