Work
So what is this blog thing anyway? We're glad
you asked. According to the Oxford American
Dictionary widget that Apple includes with OS X, a
blog is "a web site on which an individual or group
of users produce an ongoing narrative". Boring! In
clinical terms a blog is, in fact, what the Oxford
dictionary described, but it can also be much more.
You could use a blog page to keep your customers and
clients up to date on new product offerings, sales
events and other profit generating activities.

Personal
On a personal web site you could use a blog to
keep Grandpa and Grandma in the loop regarding
junior's progress through first grade, tell the world
about your latest and greatest invention or publish
your personal manifesto on how the world ought to
work. Combine the blog with RSS (really simple
syndication) feeds and you have a very powerful,
automated way of keeping in touch with your visitors.

Products
Let's pretend you own a jewelry store. You just
started offering a line of pocket watches and you
want to let your customers know. Instead of sending
out a bulk mailing brochure you could create an entry
in your blog. Customers that have subscribed to your
blog via RSS, will be notified immediately of your
new product offering. It's that simple!
